"The Musicians' Mind Practice is a one-day introduction course to using the principles of kinesiology with music. You will learn simple, easy exercises, which allow your brain and body to work more effectively, leaving the musician to work at a greater, more productive intensity, involving less effort.
You will also explore what happens in the mind and body when playing an instrument or singing and how this can cause an unnecessary physical stress. This saps the energy and stops us giving our best performance or getting the most from our practice. This can often lead to butterflies in the tummy, a poor tone, shaky, sweaty fingers, a dry mouth or arms and legs that do not belong to the body. During practice it is the feeling we are wasting the time, nothing is improving despite a great deal of effort. You will learn simple self-help techniques to cope with this stress to the body and help you to deal with past, present or future stresses."
The course is suitable for all ages, abilities and all disciplines of music. Please feel free to bring your instrument.
The course runs from 10.00am to 4.30pm with breaks for coffee, lunch and tea.
The course is held in the village of Bishops Waltham, near Southampton. There is free off road parking and disabled toilet facilities at the venue.
The course costs £48.00 (price includes tuition and drinks only)
