Useful tip – choose your reed to suit the place where you are:
/me A softer reed in a resonant, dry, air-conditioned venue. /me A harder reed in an acoustically “dull” room, out of doors, or in a damp place.
For example, an experienced musician who normally uses a strength 3½ may use a strength 3 for an air conditioned location. Conversely they may select strength 4, if they were to play a concert in a humid environment.

56 RUE LEPIC Clarinet Reeds Named for the home of Vandoren, the new 56 rue Lepic reed is designed from thicker cane with a heel taper similar to German-style reeds. The new 56 emits a rich, centered and extremely pure sound while providing maximum stability and immediate response in all registers. With an additional "3.5+" strength zone and revolutionary humidity balance packaging, the rue Lepic reed sets the highest standards for performance and reliability. Strength gradations are more specific, resulting in reeds that are very consistent.
